Hi - I'm looking to find my great grandfather's immigration from Greece. The family story is while immigrating to U.S. he met and married wife on boat. They were unsuccessful getting into U.S. Therefore, landed in Mexico. You can read this story from Patagoina library in Arizona, written by Jennie Walsh Ashcraft. http://www.patagoniapubliclibrary.org/download/whytheseplant_lagacygarden.pdfhttp://www.patagoniapubliclibrary.org/download/whytheseplant_lagacygarden.pdf
Great grandfather's Info: Angel Arandules - Other spellings of first name read (Angelo-Antonio-Adelberto)
Birth abt: 1864 Birth location: Greece? However, found possible birth location in Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico.
Death year: abt. 1929 Location: Possibly in Arizona. His wife Antonia Torres Arandules, is buried at High Street cemetery in Benson, Az. I'm thinking he might be buried their?
Father's name: I think Manuel Arandules. I found article in The AZ Sentinel or I believe it was Tombstone weekly Epitaph. Article states in February, 17, 1898 he died in Arispe, Sonora, Mexico at age 71.
Mother's name: ?
HISTORY: He was married to Antonia Torres. on August 24, 1891 in Cochise County, Arizona. Her birth year 1865 - Birth location: Spain? Possible birth location in Misa, Mexico. Death: March 20, 1951, Benson, Az.
Angel had homestead in Cascabel, Arizona, granted 160 acres in 1908. I believe he passed away in 1929, where land was awarded to Antonia. Antonia and Angel had six children: Leonardo, Miguel, Antonio, Angel, Rita and Mercedes. The family story told of great grandparents on boat may be off a generation. They're possible birth locations in Mexico doesn't match the story.
Other Additional Info:
Their is a 1880 census under "Angel Arandules" stating his home residence in 1880 is San Pedro River, Pima, Arizona. His age is 18 years.
On Ancestry I know their is his Deceleration of Intention, citizenship and two other documents with his name/signature on it. I'm unable to view these documents because I don't have a membership with ancestry. Some of the information is listed below. If anyone can look up this info and let me know what these documents say I'd appreciate it.
