I received a letter from a cousin, and in it there was an ad for "The Complete 2002 Douthard Family History".What made this suspicious for me was the fact that you had to reserve, with money, your copy of this family book.
Sure, it listed some facts -- all of which I knew about and all of which are easily accessible to the researcher.
I also found suspusicious the fact that the e-mail address had a question mark in front of it.I e-mailed, and received no reply.Interesting the e-mail didn't come back as undeliverable.
I checked on the web, and there the words "scam", "boiler-room operation", etc.
Thanks for web sites such as yours for helping the genealogy community from being fleeced once again.
Also, I find that targeting senior citizens is still going on, and also mailings to people who are deceased. How low can you go?
