I am running Generations Grand Suite Version 8.0 on Windows XP and the only problem I am currently experiencing is the color palette problem. I want to correct this problem but I do not want to create additional problems, especially the disappearing data syndrome. If I am not currently experiencing other problems, will I potentially experience them by upgrading or are the Generations programs so similar that if I'm okay now I'll be okay with the new version? I currently have an nVidea graphics card but everything seems okay right now. I would like to by the latest version, 8.5a from Broderbund (and download appropriate patch) but perhaps it is safer to just buy the patches available for 8.0. If I purchase 8.5a I will delete 8.0 as I don't think I need both (I have read Mike Hobart's tutorial). Which is the better way to procede -all patches or new edition (money not the issue -I'd pay the $10.00)?
