My great-grandfathers brother emigrated from Valsoeyfjord/Aure in Norway to the US in the year 1900. But I´m struggling to find him in the Ellis Island records. I have found his record with the norwegian emigration authorities, and this is the information I have:
Johannes Kristenson, born 1875 at Bratset, Valsoeyfjord, Aure, Moere and Romsdal, Norway. Parents where Kristen Erikson, born 1832, same place, and Inger Andersdotter, born 1835 at Hjellnes, Valsoeyfjord, Aure, Moere and Romsdal, Norway.
He emigrated March 28. 1900 out of Kristiansund, Moere and Romsdal, Norway. The emigration records shows he was born 1878, but this is incorrect. Destination was New York, and he was travelling with White Star Line. He probably sailed to Hull, and then from Liverpool to New York. Normally this would take 2-3 weeks?
I would like to find out where he established his farm. At some point his houses burnt down, but where rebuilt. He never married, and returned to Norway around 1947, where he lived until he died in 1958.
