Thank you for finding this information, and for taking the time to help me. Seems like a logical connection.
I am not sure WHEN the oak leaves were carved. This is a large older stone in a family plot, with (I believe) all of the names of those buried there on it. The oldest/longest lived is the person who died most recently (1830-1907). The others are grown children, and two spouses. I am guessing that the names and dates were carved after each passed away, but am not even sure when the stone was made (when the first passed away, or sometime later).
Just another mystery to ponder!
