I have recently been using the Posner Memorial Collection of Jewish Newspapers from Pittsburgh PA. This wonderful free data base has provided me with numerous obituaries and articles about my ancestors who came to America around the turn of the 20th Century from Romania. I found an article from The Jewish Criterion from December 1952. It was a letter wherein a woman named Miriam Rachel Adler Brenner from Israel was seeking her brothers Dave, Sam and Strul-Hers (Isidore Hersh) Adler who had moved from Herta Romania to Pittsburgh. She was also seeking an Uncle Wolf Hilenbrand. Unfortunately Mrs. Brenner was several decades too late as her brothers, their Uncle and cousins were almost all dead by the time of her letter. As well the brothers had left Pittsburgh and moved to Detroit Michigan. I assume that Mrs. Brenner is also gone but perhaps she has family who are still interested in her family in the US. David Adler was my Great Grandfather and I have quite a bit of information on my family once they arrived in the US. I would be interested in finding others from our family.
