DONALD RAY HIGHTOWER, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2003 in Alvin, Texas. He was born in Houston, Texas on December 25, 1935. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sally Hightower, and sister, Keva Bracewell & children, 5 daughters, Diane, Gail, Barbra, Ellen, Lisa, and 2 sons, Danald and James; 19 grandchildren, Gibby, Lanette, Mike, Robert, Angela, Chris, Sherrie, Jesse, Chelsea, Kimberly, Richard, Johnathon, Krystal, Amber, Lindsay, Ryder, Austin, Alexandra, Sierra and 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild to be. Also several nieces and nephews. Donald Hightower, at the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp. of San Diego, California and was discharged honorably as Sargent after 10 years with a good conduct medal of 3 awards, a National Defense Service Medal after serving in the Korean War. His last few years after he retired, he worked at Wal-Mart and was known as Grandpa to many, although his journey was complete his wisdom and knowledge still remains through his loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, August 3, 2003, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Robey Funeral Home in the Chapel, 403 W. Sterling Ave., Baytown, Texas 77520. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 4, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. also at Robey Funeral Home in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
