Hi Lorraine, I have just begun the search on this portion of the family. Here's what I know.
My Grandma was Myrtle Minnie Mae Radmer (b. 1917). Her mother was Lila Pearl Brown (b. 1897) and her father was Oscar F.C. Radmer (b. 1888).
Lila Pearl's siblings (that I have found so far) are Jay C. Brown (b. 1881), Franklin H. Brown (b. 1882, and Magnolia M. Brown (b. 1903). I think it is very likely that Lila had a sibling named Minnie, and that might be why she named her daughter, my grandmother, after her.
Lila's (and her siblings') parents were William Henry Brown b. 1855(my great-great grandfather) and Jane "Jennie" Elizabeth Hall/Brown/Love b. 1862(my great-great grandmother). I believe (though not 100% certain) that Jane's/"Jennie's" father was George Lakin from England. That is the extent that I know on this portion of the family from online research.
My father and his sister always mention that (their) Grandma Lila would always tell them that her mother Jennie, she went by, was very mean to her. Apparently she told her that there was a secret about the family that she wouldn't tell her until she was on her death bed. Apparently she was never able to tell the kids this secret (whatever it was). I have heard rumors also that she was part native, I've also heard rumors that she was kidnapped and raised by a different mother. Hard to know what is true and what is not without any evidence. Maybe that's the case, that she was adopted, although I've never heard that before. When I saw that you had mentioned that Jane's mother was native, that put that thought back in my mind. Would you mind sending me a copy of the photos you have of Mary and family? I would greatly appreciate it if so.
