I am presently tracing the Revell family in England in hopes of locating the parants of Randall Revell who immigrated to America around 1632. Randall had a sister Rebecca who married John Edmunds.
I have authored a 600-page book that traces Randall Revell in America beginning in 1632 and continuing to the present day.
I document everything possible. Some source are secondary and may be weak, other use primary sources and can be trusted.
I do not rely upon The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints very often as this source has often been proven heresay. However, this is the souce of the materials sent to you. They have in their microfilm records several pedigrees for the Revells beginning with Hugo de Revell of Dalphine, France but now of England. This chart continues through time until around the mid nineteenth century.
I acquired this chart back in 1984 and simply filed it in a drawer. After completing the book on Randall, I became interested in his English relatives and am now making an attempt to document them as well.
The chart is about four and one-half feet wide and five feet top to bottom. I receieved it cut up into 11 x 8 pages and just recently have managed to piece it back together. Several days ago I made a comparison to charts made by Gladwyn M. Revell Turbutt of Ogston Hall. Much of the data is almost the same as she reportsin The History of the Ely, Revell and Stacye Families.
As I have only recently begun this new task, it will take considerable time to complete. We may find that I am performing the same work as you. Thus far I have traced Hugh to henry and Henry's son Robert. I am just beginning to trace Henry's second and third sons.
You have apparantly spent a great deal of time on this research. Are you related to the Revell's? What is your interest?
