"Did you ever consider that the guerrilla's horse may have been crippled or dead and Bill Anderson let him ride his in pursuit of the small Yankee party?" 1..For Anderson to have remained dismounted, giving his horse to one of his men is beyond the realm of belief. 2..For Anderson NOT to have led he men in the charge also stretches credibility beyond belief. 3..Anderson and his men were already mounted and riding when they came upon the ambush.
"I think you need to read Bill Anderson's interviews more closely than you apparently have." I have read the interview, and found it ridiculous.
"Also, I hope you will back up the lone photo that has been widely published as being of "Bloody Bill Anderson" with its origin and authentication. I must warn you that the lady in charge of that famous photograph, at the University of Missouri, replied kindly to my request and said she has no documentation as to the origin of this photograph that you deduce is really of Bloody Bill Anderson." That photo has been around for a long time.Although there is no documentation of its authenticity, no one of consequence, including those who knew him, has refuted it.
To believe that all those who identified Bloody Bill's body were part of some conspiracy to allow him to escape is just silly.
