I sure hate to see Prof. James E. Starrs botch another exhumation. His 1995 exhumation of the pruported grave of Jesse James was definitely a fiasco.
Starrs admitted in his book, A Voice For The Dead, that he fabricated the statement he publicly made about Missouri law prohibiting him from exhuming Jesse James' mother, Zerelda James Samuel, because she died from natural causes. Many other things about that exhumation appear to have been fabricated too.
I pioneered the investigation of Starrs' tainted exhumation of the purported grave of Jesse James and wrote about my findings, including Starrs' fabrication concerning Missouri law, in my first book, Jesse James Lived & Died In Texas, [Eakin Press, 1998].I contactedthe Missouri Attorney General's office who confirmed there was no such law.
