Thanks for your reply. Guess I didn't make myself too clear. Sorry.
First off, I'm using PAF 4.0 and have been using the `S[es]' in the BIO section to add sources for births, deaths etc. but also for references re data in the NOTES.
My problems - or needs - are twofold and while separate they're also connected.
1I have considerable research data about various individuals placed in the NOTES sections which I want to number/are numbered to specific references or sources. These notes range from a single reference or source for a person to 20-40-60 references for a single person. References may be various: books, book pages, locations, wills, censuses, records of baptism, birth, marriage, death, tombstones...you name it, wherever relevant data has been found for an individual.
I want to remove the references that currently are entered as numbered footnotes into the sources area such that, when a BOOK is printed, they ALL will be listed just prior to the INDEX and in numbered order.
2In order to do the above effectively, I need to be able to number all existing sources that have been entered the PAF way and number the new multiple references. In turn these will relate back to the `buried' foot note numbering included in the notes dialogue or story: in essence just like I was writing a book and utilizing a quality word processor.
Is there any way I can accomplish these tasks in PAF 4 or the new 5 which I cannot download for the life of me [never returns a download approval yet it's free]? Alternatively, is there any other software that will accomplish these tasks and still be user friendly?
Thank you and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
