This could be dependent on a number of variables: (a) The size of your database (b) What other programs you may have running at the sametime as PAF5 (including ALL hidden ones) (c) How much spare memory you have available on your computer. Any one of those could contribute to a slowness. There may be other reasons, but those would be good areas to check first.
Of course you can narrow your search a lot more efficiently by typing in a name. Even the first letter of a name will help. Just make sure you have the INDIVIDUAL screen open when you click on FIND. This will speed up your search, too. When you type in, say "D" and hit OK, you will immediately go to the INDIVIDUAL list and be at the start of the "D's". If you typed in "De", you would go to the start of names beginning with "De". That way you can avoid scrolling up and down the FIND window more than necessary. The more "clues" you type the narrower will be your search results.
