I ran a check/repair and first did a check only. Most of the errors occurred in user event pointers.(invalid and not pointing back to certain records or owner types.)I alos had "file header name count does not match tree count"and "bad name tree."
After backing up, I tried exporting a GEDCOM and creating a new PAF file.Although the number of individuals and marriages matched, the number of sources, notes and events did not. This worried me, so then I restored the backup file and ran a check/repair.I did it about 3 times and finally came up with no errors.
However, I am wondering how to find the changes made that were recorded in the report? For instance, user event 4 User event pointer (0)is invalid.Set the pointer to 0. (FIXED)Is this going to make any difference in my database? When I do a GEDCOM of this now clean file, I still come up with differing numbers, particulary on events. Help.
