Having a data processing background I looked at my Register trying to find a pattern to the "He/She married unknown." problem.Didn't find any.
But I continued my investigation and determined that somehow blank marriage records had been set up for some unmarried people, including some infants. This apparently was a bug in the GED routine in Family Tree Legends which I recently discarded.I had transferred my file from FTL to PAF using a GED export file.
If any other reader should stumble on this posting they should realize that FTL has many bugs and several amateurish designs, one of which is that Notes are printed in the Register-type report ONLY for the individual who is a descendant, not for the spouse. That's a real complication when both parties are in your project.
Another Notes problem in FTL is that a note is established even if the user only accesses the Note routine to see if one exists. An unnamed, blank note is created if you exit without keying anything. Then two (2) lines and a blank are wasted in the Registry Report printing "Notes for XXX XXX" on one line and "Notes" on the next followed by NOTHING.The only way to delete that blank note is to name it, return to the individual's screen, then go back to the Note and click Delete.Unnamed Notes, even if blank, cannot be deleted.
