I would not use the "Hide details for the living".I've found that if you don't have a death date for an individual, they will pobably be shown as "Living" even though they are not.I use a filter to exclude anyone with no death date and a birthdate prior to 1940.Then I manually remove the one's that are left.I have them memorized now, it's only like 5 people who slip through the filter.Otherwise you might want to give everyone an estimated date of death if you know they are not living.

As for wallpaper, PAF will allow you to enter the name of a .gif or .jpg file to be used.
