Thanks for the information (I sent off an e-mail to the company asking if they have a German version).
Unfortunately, a localized version of a program does a lot more than accept accented characters and European paper sizes (which is something that PAF unfortunately does not do at all well, as it often loses a line at the bottom of a page when printing on A4 size paper). Many reports have standard text which must also be translated into the target language, such as the header "Descendants of ..." etc.
The PAF Modified Register report, which I use a lot, has a lot of suchstandard texts. The German version of PAF does a reasonable job of translating these, with some exceptions, but there is a freeware program available which allows one to edit the table containing the templates used, so most of the awkward translations can be improved.
