Hello,
Iam searching for my Ancestors that came from Enlgand about early 1600 time period.
John Thacker, somthing about Arundel, England or Maryland is assocated with him..he is said to have been born about 1615 or so.
Thacker,Thatcher,Thacher. are surnames spellings
he later has a son named William born about 1690 or so..and William later becomes a Colonel..and is processioned by the vestry of St. Pauls' Church...(Marylyland?)He later goes to Virginia and later from there to North Carolina. He has a son born in 1740, in Cabelle,Virginia names him Reuben Thacker.
William is said to have married to an Indian Wife.I guess this is also something to do with Land Grants being given by the King of Englan at that time..to settle. in USA?
I think they may have immigrated sometime about 1635 or so from Arundel Castle England Area.(John that is)
I do not have John's wife's name nor William's wife's name?
Seems my family is known in Kent and Sussex in England and may have made new settlements in Maryland. and maybe PA. and Va. and N.C.
