Marilyn, thanks for responding.I have this info on Hannah/David:
From:Documents Relating to the Colonial History of the State of New Jersey, Vol XXII, Marriage Records, 1665-1800 by William Nelson, 1900 Marriage Licenses, pg 15 Ashton, Hannah, and David Newburn, Bucks Co, PA1733Dec 4 ---- From: Some Children of the Inner Light: Descendants of George and Mary by Mary Card Yarnall, pg3: [google book snippet] In New Jersey Archives, we find record of the marriage of one David Newburn, husbandman of Buckingham, Bucks County, PA to Hannah Ashton, "spinster", 4 Dec 1733.(Hannah was possibly the daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Hough) Ashton b "6-24-1716", but if David and Hannah were following Quaker tradition in naming their children, Hannah's father would have been an Isaac Ashton.)For whatever reason, David and Hannah chose a "civil" marriage as opposed to marriage within the Friends community . . ." This is all I have for them; if you have any other questions that I can help with, let me know -- email firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you know anything about Thomas Ashton's parents?I've seen him connected to Isaac Ashton b 1625 and wife Margaret (possibly Hough), but have been unable to connect them.As a result of a possible connection to my line, I've accumulated some info.
