You've encountered a fact that all genealogists face at sometime during their research....and, that is we will ALWAYS have some questions about our family that go unanswered. You will probably never know why this family lived one place, moved to another, then perhaps moved back, just as I will never know, for example, why my family sold a large farm and mill in Chester County and moved to Ohio. There would be no reason for the move that concerned the birth of their childre, though....those births were incidental to the moves...it may just be the grass looked greener....and wasn't.
The Quaker faith HAD no churches....they are always called meeting houses....so, there will NEVER be a Quaker meeting in anything called a 'church'.If they were attending a church, regardless of the name, they were no longer Quakers.
As far as the cert, for Peter at the Phil MM goes, you have a misspelling....the meeting in Wolverhampton, England was the RUGELY, NOT Rubley.I have the notation in the Phil MM records. This certificate would have been signed by numerous members of the meeting at Rugely, including a Charles Osborne and John Till...however, it does not say that Charles is Peter's father...so, don't assume that to be fact. You'll have to document that elsewhere....And, the certificate was received by the Phil MM 6m 29, 1712, so they could not have arrived much earlier than this date....certificates were presented to the new meeting AFTER the family came to meeting...generally very close to the emigration date.Their religion was generally why they emigrated in the first place, and thus, probably the first thing they did, after arrival....attend meeting, and render their certificate. It was signed, in England, 7m, 11, 1711...so the family emigrated BETWEEN these dates.
You'll do well to start 'collecting' hard copies of whatever records you have found on the internet...my genealogical guru once gave me wonderful advice that I always pass along to those I have in my gen. classes... "don't believe anything unless you have the proof in your own hand."Without primary documentation, of which you have a copy, nothing is fact...only theory.
I'd be interested in what you refer to as "Quaker website for Chester County, Pa"....I am the rootsweb county coordinator for Chester Co, and have created the rootsweb Chester Co site, but am not familiar with what you mention....could you send me the URL?I need to visit and perhaps add a link on the Chester Co site.
