Both Thomas Pugh and his wife Rebecca Baker are listed in the 1860 US census in Wyandot County, Ohio and both list their birthplace as Virginia. They have 8 children with the oldest being born in Dec 1834. They are living in Eden Township right next to Hardin County Ohio in the center of quakers living there.
My records also list a Hugh M Pugh, b 1780 and dying in Hardin County, Ohio with both his wives named Baker with one dying in Wyandot county and one in Hardin County, Ohio. This may be an indication that Thomas's wife Rebecca is somehow related to Hugh Pugh's two wives named Baker.
By the 1870 census Thomas Pugh has moved to Daviess County Missouri into another cluster of quakers with a new wife 20 years younger then him with some of his children by Rebecca. Research shows by 1870 there are 4 different branches of Pughs living in Daviess county that I can prove through past research.
By living amoung quakers in Ohio and Missouri I am ASSUMING that they were born, and married, into the quaker faith in Virginia.I have no proof they were members of the Frieds in Ohio.
I do not have access to Hinshaw's books and would appreciate any assistance in this brick wall.Thank you for your interest in helping me.James Pugh
