Can someone please help me? I have had this document for about 35 years and am still no closer to knowing if my Hunters were Quakers or not. Did they have to be Quaker to witness and sign the bond for a Quaker marriage or not. I have a marriage record, recorded in Onslow Co, NC, St. John's Parish, Deed book B, pg. 220. In Gwynn's Records of Onslow Co, this is listed on pg. 12, but you want find it there, in the original it is on pg. 220, dated 21 November 1743 and not proved until Oct. 1744 and registered 18 May 1745.
