I forgot to mention that one of my ancestor's older brothers, Nicholas P. CHAVIS, joined the Union Army in Kentucky.I would like to find him on the 1890 Fed. Census.
25 Jan 1863Nicholas CHAVIS joined the 7th Kentucky Infantry, Company I of the Union Army at Flat Lick, Kentucky. After the war he filed for a Civil War pension. He received a Veteran's Pension: see Application # 470 427 and Certificate # 638 500.His widow, Elizabeth, also applied for a widow's pension: Application # 525 874, Certificate # 329 108.
Does anyone know of his family?Charity Chavis is conjecture.
