I agree with you, Dean, about the fertile places for Unionism in the south.It seems that many of the locations where you could find them was in mountainous areas, where you would be least apt to find large planatations.However, there was a Union regiment formed in north Florida (no mountains there), which I'd be curious to learn more about.There was also some Unionism in Texas among German immigrants, some of whom paid with their lives.

It should be out soon.I wonder if she has run across any info. about Bill Looney that would be helpful to you.There is only one fleeting references to Looney in the ORs (and I think they may have spelled his name as Luny).
