Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes he is buried in Alabama. In the Goodsprings (or Oak Grove as it is known now) cemetery. It is a smaller cemetery located in the community where he lived (or at least where the rest of his family lived and I'm assuming that he lived. I can't find him on any census but can find his family. I grew up in the same community and now live only about 10 minutes from it). The only "town" in the county where the grave is located is Athens, Al. I have been to the archives but the only record I can find is where he married my gg-grandmother. I have her family history (she was an Owens) back to the 1500's. I know nothing of his family, not his parents or if he even had siblings. There is one coincidence that might point to who they might be. On a census from when his wife was about 7, their next door neighbors where Lovell's. They had a son listed as W.F. Lovell with his birth year being a year off from my gg grandfather who was W.E. Lovell. I can't find anything to really support that this is him or his family. I've tried researching the WF that is listed on that census and can't find anything on him either. W.E. Lovell's wife's name was Viola Owens Lovell. Their children where Robert Mac Lovell (05/10/1893 – 01/1974), John Thomas Lovell (01/11/1895 – 07/01/1940 My great grandfather) and Beatrice Lovell (04/01/1897 – 08/09/1947). According to an earlier census they also had 2 other children that must have died at birth or very early. There are 2 field rocks used as tombstones beside W.E's grave with the initials ending in L. I'm assuming that maybe these where those children. He is also buried close to his father in law which was a confederate soldier. There is 2 of his grandchildren still living, both of whom where born well after his death and neither have ever heard of what happened to him. They didn't even know his name. I had to do alot of digging at the archives to find his name. The only thing they ever heard him called was "Life". His wife lived until 1953 but undoubtably never talked alot about him. I have went through every local newspaper from the year he was born and there is nothing mentioned about his death or an obit. Strange to live in such a small community that is so close and I can't find out anything about this person. It seems like he just dropped off the face of the earth! ANY help with this would be greatly appreciated. I've been banging my head against this wall for quite awhile now!
