Wow. You have just confirmed all that I know about MR. Kip. The first thing I found about him was in his grandmothers will and probate papers. They had to locate all of the children of William Sylvanus Moore. Kips address was Co. E 2nd.Miss Vol. Jackson Miss.At first from the 1880 census, I thought that Kip was female and thought she may have been a nurse for the army, but I figured from the later census that he was indede a male. Seems like you followed the same trail that I did, but it has taken me 8-10 years to this point. I am now trying to locate his pension file. five years ago I found his pension record number C2594957 and sent to the NARA they couldn't locate it at that time. I have since found that the VA could still be the holder of the file. The web site KinQuest.com explains the procedure in detail. The last source on Kip that I have is the 1930 census Idahome, Cassia, Idaho age 57, b. Illnois, laborer odd jobs, was in S.P.A
Thanks again for your interest in this. By the way Kit K. Moore is my cousin three times removed or something like that. He was my grandmothers 1st. cousin.
