I am pleased to announce the release of the scheduled release of my second book, Pieces of the Quilt: The Mosaic of An African American Family isbn #1-4392-3585-6. The book is scheduled to be released the last week of May 2009. My first book is titled, Notes And Documents of Free Persons of Color, and was a little more technical than Pieces of the Quilt. I received excellent reviews from readers of my first book.
Pieces Of the Quilt: The Mosaic of an African American Family, is a Non-Fiction Narrative, and is aimed at a General Audience. This is a book that offers hope to those who are researching their Multi-Racial lines. Most of my research was centered on Pennsylvania and Virginia, in Colonial America. In Pieces of the Quilt, I follow ancestors who emigrated to places like Liberia and Nova Scotia, to communities settled by Free Blacks. One of my ancestors, Elijah Johnson was a member of the American Colonization Society, and emigrated to Liberia. He is credited with being the architect of Monrovia Liberia.
This second book was well worth the effort, and is a must have for beginning or intermediate researchers.
