I have been using The Master Genealogist under Linux (Ubuntu Dapper 6.06, Edgy & Feisty) for some time now. I have tried using emulators Win4LinPro & Parallelsworkstation with limited success. Until recently I had given up on using Crossover but with the upgrade from version 6.0 to 6.1 TMG runs perfectly as far as I can see barring a few minor problems with the help system in VCF. You can read about my explorations in this direction at: http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?forum=1;app_id=874;mhl=6286#msg6286http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?forum=1;app_id=874;mhl=6286#msg6286 or look at the codeweavers site and search for tmg under compatability. I now use TMG all the time with Crossover. It appears fast and reliable. Crossover is the commercial version of the free wine program but it is much easier to set up. I have never succeeded in getting wine to run TMG, but it is simple with Crossover.Once it is up and running just Restore a TMG backup file of your data and you are up and running. I would be interested to hear how you get on. Best wishes, Ian.
