I made the switch to Linux (Mint) close to a year ago and have been using FTM 2005 for many years. I had done a test and determined that WINE would run FTM just fine. I was using BODHI Linux on a PIII Toshiba laptop. Now I have a better computer and run Linux Mint 11 and decided to try out TMG after learning it would import everything from FTM. It did so and I was able to transfer the data to my Android phone as well using the TMG utility to convert the data to Gedstar Pro format.
So far the only problem I'm running into (aside from the complexity of TMG) is the tiny fonts in some windows and so far I can't figure out how to edit data for an existing entry.
I thought I understood the trial version to use all features of the registered version but until I find out for sure I'm holding off on registering since I want to see just how things work and editing an existing person is a very basic need.
Basic System info:Lenovo X60 12" screen, 3GB RAM, triple boot system with Win7, Linux Mint 11, Linux Mint Debian (which I plan to change to 64 bit and that may become my primary OS when I make that change. For now I use the 32bit version of Linux Mint 11.
Hope you are still following this thread even though it's ancient.
