As a followup, I was aware that this method of saving a printer codes file (probably) was not going to get you any closer to Quark. Nor have I ever heard of any veteran UFT user mentioning using it.
On the contrary, with a 1997 version of UFT, if you can get most of the Reports into Word with RTF, perhaps placeholders may be used to later include printouts of any "highly structured" (greyed out) reports that are not available in RTF "Print to File" format for export to Word. There is a "free" upgrade to UFT 2.8, but perhaps some user has contacted you directly about this. If not, search below.
If you continue to use UFT 2.0, be careful with making any font changes, particularly with the index font. Sometimes you cannot get it back to the defaults in 2.0. If grandpa has generated any "non-genealogy" reports, such as Address lists or the like, be aware that all indexing is done on the "maiden" name of each individual, as entered, not on married names. Can't be changed. Work around it.
