Catherine- Do you have "automatically Launch Editor" selected? Which Text Editor are you using to open your RTF file?
Be aware the the temporary file, fgettmp.rtf, used by UFT can get corrupted or duplicated. Delete any of those you find on your computer.
But to get back to the basics, I thought I understood all the permutations of UFT "print to file' when using UFT 3 with selection/deselection of Automatically Launch Word 97, UFT Editor (both the built in one and the rudimentary free-standing one), and WP 9 on Other.
By that I mean UFT seemed to have its "print to file" selection process designed to put out different reports for WP-6, WP-7, Word, and perhaps the UFT Editor. Sort of mix and match, depending on whether you had MSWord installed with a path to Winword.exe.
But my experience just now with Word 2002 on XP SP-2 leads me to believe that the Indented Descendant Report I am getting is the one designed for the UFT Editor. (Or maybe I have forgotten). The line drawing fonts disappear as I scroll down the page in Word 2002.
It may be an indexing problem, but others have also reported weird behavior. Note that until I installed a path to Word 2002 Winword.exe a couple of days ago, I could at least get passable RTF exports. Now it is not necessarily "as designed" in the Roots days.
In short: A week ago I would have suggested for XP (But not necessarily XP SP-2)(based on Win 98 experience) that you "must" have a path to Winword.exe. to get the "Right Stuff". (Off topic:Watched the author on C-Span last night).
But now, with XP SP-2, it may be necessary to NOT have a path the Winword.exe installed in UFT, and to NOT automatically launch. Dunno. -john
