Jim-
When a new release of any program is slipstreamed onto the market on a holiday eve in such a manner that power users such as yourself find it necessary to issue numerous warnings on more than one forum or list about the pitfalls of implementing the upgrade, then a little caution may be in order for users of other programs who trust their data to that same upgrade.
In my ignorance, but with an abundance of curiosity I read every posting I could find on the subject of TMG 6. "Read Only" is fine if reading is all that is done to the data.
And, yes, I was aware that some users had pasted in error reports on the WG forum that indicated that TMG *may* have only have migrated up as far as Foxpro vers. 7.
But Google took me to VFP 8, and it was a holiday, and I, too, decided to post a caution warning on this UFT forum that I have followed for many years.
As to the merits of the latest release of TMG, a program that has been frequently mentioned on this forum by those seeking to both promote it AND make life easier for existing UFT users, the consensus of upgraders seems to be that it will someday be even better than TMG 5.15.
Highest regards,
John Moran
