IF certain "reserved" characters, such as backslashes and braces, are used INCORRECTLY in UFT memo fields AND/IF Journal or other reports are *printed to file* in RTF format, errors and crashes can occur.
But if these same reserved characters are *correctly* inserted in memo fields to obtain certain specific goals, no errors should occur. That is, a single brace can be bad - but a double set of opening and closing braces that surround other "reserved characters" as well as desired text may be OK.
But don't do it! __________________________ Note to Robert Hanley: If your *find and replace* doesn't find everything, be aware that sending your report directly to the printer instead of RTF should result in no crashes and the errant reserved characters should be visible as well... This means that you *might* be able to send smaller reports to PDF, open them in Adobe Reader 7, and do further string searches there. But Adobe Reader searches are extremely slow. John
