I suspect that that what you've read about is an upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. Windows 7 Professional supports "XP Mode." This is a way to virtualize Windows XP so it will run UNDER Windows 7. This is a very transparent way to address this but it's expensive.
I am trying to do the same thing using Sun's VirtualBox which is free but perhaps not as transparent to the user as Windows 7 Professional's XP Mode.
I still have my old Windows XP Professional system and today went back and ran UFT under it and created a GEDCOM file from my project.
I went to ancestry.com and uploaded this file. It seems that it is a good representation of what I had in UFT. I will continue to view this and play with it.
Most people on this forum have lots more experience than I do. Why SHOULDN'T is just use ancestry.com?
