Catherine, I'm sorry if you feel I was being critical of your abilities. I write comments to this board for others who are still finding their way around the product, and seem to find it more difficult than they need to. It is a complex product, and people seem to get confused by all the things you can do with it. But if the product does not work the way you want to work, then that is reason enough to want to switch to one that you feel more comfortable with. I too feel a bit trapped by UFT, but mainly because it does not work the way it claims. I'm upset that Genealogy.com doesn't seem to be providing adequate technical or marketing support for the product in a competitive market place - especially when they also sell the biggest competitor. And of course, I have some pet enhancement I would like to have, but I've given up hope for any of them. It certainly would be nice if more complete and accurate data transfers could be possible to move our data to other products, but that too seems like a dream. So us oldtimers seem to be trapped - too much data to try to move to another product (unless we are forced to) and yet with a product that is missing key features that we want. I hope Genealogy.com surprises us soon and releases an update that fixes the bugs and gives us some of the features we most want - including GEDCOM improvements. Let's relax, try to accept our situation, have a happy holiday, and see what the new year will bring.
