Deby,
Soon after I got my first computer, I began my search for a good genealogical program.I called the folks at FTM and the salesman offered to send me a free demonstration CD to try prior to purchase.I received it in the mail, tried it out and decided it wasn't for me.
I continued my search and ultimately decided upon TMG for my needs.I have NEVER purchased anything from the folks at FTM, but I am now on their list!Apparently, they thought their demo would be good enough to sell me on FTM and their other "services" and products.
I downloaded the free PAF 4.0.3 which is quite a nice program and the price is right! I use PAF along with TMG which is a far more demanding program.I use the PAF for the unrelated families that may or may not ever connect...and also for building one-name family databases.
There is something about FTM that bothers me.They want to sell you their product ... then encourage you to submit your own research results to them ... so that they can turn around and sell it back to you and to others! That concept turns me off completely and was a deciding factor for not buying into FTM.
Thank you, but no thank you...the FTM 7.0 Upgrade won't do me any good either.
Linda
