I couldn't agree with you more Bob, I am a loyal Roots 3 user from the first shipment into Australia and find Paul's answers to these types of questions frustrating and even arrogant towards users who, after all, are the very reason the company exists. They certainly do their best to bug (the stongest I dare use here) users off.
Their marketing is terrible, with us aussies taking 6 months, with 2 false starts of old versions, before we could get UFT 3.0 to sell in Australia. Users who went direct to the USA had all sorts of delays and re-orderings before getting results.
UFT 3.0 is the ONLY program I use that I have to keep two versions of to manage my data because of known bugs in 3.0 How they can say this is acceptable because it doesn't corrupt data is beyond me ! I believe this lack of a bug fix is a major contributing factor, together with the awful marketing in stores and on the Web, that cause the concern about the future of UFT. Howard must really be dissapointed with what is happening.
All this is very difficult to defend, and we don't always try, with new users at the users group and also at other meetings and in a magazine (circ 800+) that covers genealogy and computing.
All we want initially is a bug fix, ie a UFT 3.1 or 3.01, this would at least prove the company is being "friendly" to users, we don't want to know details of the when a UFT 4.0 migt be released and what new features it will have (although it would be nice ).
Are you listening Paul ? and will you do someting about it and provide some REAL feedback not just company hype/wall of silence?
