I am running UFT 3.0 on my desktop computer (IBM clone with 500 MHz Intel processor) without any problems at all... My friend who I convinced to use UFT as genea program runs UFT 3.0 on the fastest Toshiba Laptop on the market (600 MHz ??) without any problems.
I am a formal Roots3 user who evoluated to a UFT beta-tester. I have bought (not copied)several genea programs like PAF, Family Tree maker, The Master Genealogist, Genelines, Pro-Gen and can tell you none of them have the same capabilities as UFT.
I am aware that there are still some bugs which means that some reports or routines sometimes do not do what is expected but as long as your imported data (the DBF files) are not corrupted or lossed I can live with those minor bugs.
My genea program I use to store my data and has to be very thourough and fast in searching data and has to be very extensive in keeping data. The family history itself I write myself in a word processor while switching from my Word to UFT to 'see' the data and writing a 'story' from that data.
