Sue, I never wanted to switch to the print to file method. The Wordprocessors I used would not put the index as the last item in the list. But now Word97, as least, will generate the index and makes it skip over the endnotes to be the last item in a book. So I have switched in that respect. What I miss is the compressed endnotes that direct print gives. I see that the other FoxPro engine program has a feature to send a compressed endnotes to a file. But then you can't add or subtract any endnote in the text. That would be ok with me. I just don't like to see those pages and pages of endnotes that are repeated over and over. There should be some way to edit the list of numbers like 25-50 but Word states that is a no, no.
Sue, really the biggest feature in UFT is it's great register style report, IMOH, but I know you would like to print a number of pedigrees with a index and 4 generation sheets are a waste of paper.
