Blue, Do you understand this problem the way I do? When you have the thread based listing of messages, a reply is displayed under and a little to the right of the previous message. If a thread has a reply to a reply to a reply ... for a dozen or more levels, the browser runs out of room to get the full subject (and author) information on one line, so a continuation line is used (indented the same as the start of the title). Have some more levels of replies, and it can get no more than one word on a line. Therefore, the title shows up as a stack of words off on the right edge of the screen. The browser may actually need more than the window width, so it will put a scroll bar at the bottom. The number of levels of replies that cause this problem probably depends on screen size and setting. I guess, if your font is small enough and your screen is large enough, you might not get this happening very often. I see this with both Netscape 4.5 and IE5, and I think it has always been around. There may be an option on one or both to handle tabbing too close to the right edge in some different way, but I don't know how to find it. A classic example is the thread about the Mattel press release/articles, where some replies were a bit critical of Paul, and you eventually said that we were being a bit hard on him. (The subject changed a couple of time in the thread.) It seems unlikely there is a solution that will be perfect, since the indented message titles is a very helpful way of identifying which message a reply is replying to. And we sometimes go on and on about a topic dear to our hearts.
