THREE RELATED QUESTIONS: (1) I went straight from Roots 3 into UFT (?ver 2.2) and am now using UFT ver 3.0. Former R3 users will remember the goofy way we had to enter characters such as "ä", "å", "£", "æ" etc.Are these holdovers from my R3 file causing me problems in UFT? Here's why I ask ... Most of such characters entered in R3 do not print correctly in UFT and I've spent eons trying to "buff" them. (2) I'm totally unable to get a "sizeable" FJ from UFT into either FTEditor or MS Word (using Word 2000).Anything more than 3-4 generations usually just blips out, i.e. stops short of finishing the lineage and/or footnotes.Could these two problems POSSIBLY be related? (3) If so, what's the possibility of doing some sort of Global Replace via Excel? I know opening the .DBF files with a spreadsheet can actually corrupt the .DBF ... H E L P !
