I just installed UFT platinum for my wife.I disabled my Norton anti-virus, ( I have norton system works), then began the install. The install went O.K. except the program wasn't able to find a browser,(I have MSIE 5.0 and use AOl 5.0 for an ISP). I decided to fool around in UFT eventhough I knew I couldn't go online.I got theUFT "gateway" box, then clicked on UFT icon and immediately got a message that Norton crashguard intercepted a crash in UFT and gave me a file name "FOXW2600.ESL". This happened each of the three times I tried to access UFT.I e-mailed AOl to see about configuring my browser differently.THey said to start UFT, then launch AOL, and to check a couple of other things at the same time.Well I thought I'd try one more time to start UFT with the same result, EXCEPT everything froze.Contrl/Alt/Del didn't work, ALT-F4 didn't work. I finally shut down the CPU.When I turned the computer back on I had to go to places I've NEVER been to before. I got error messages that hundreds of files had invalid dates and invalid timestamps.I also got a systems file error box that 2 files had been replaced by a program I recently ran,(UFT????, and that I should run Windows Setup off my orginal Windows discs.Well I don't have any Windows discs since Windows was already on my computer when I bought it. I would love to have some guidance here about why UFT seems to want to crash, and possibly how I might be able to replace these Windows files that were apparently replased by UFT. Thanks, Mike Sorry for the novel.
