She brings over twelve years of industry experience in the development of high-performance software and Internet applications. Prior to joining Genealogy.com, Cheryl served as a Senior Development Manager at Healtheon Corporation where she managed the overall development of the web-based benefits product line. Cheryl also served as a Senior Development Manager at Informix Software, leading the development efforts for the JWorks line of Java product development tools. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University and is currently completing her Masters in Business Administration at Santa Clara University.
PAUL DEBRY, Vice President of Acquisitions - Paul acquires genealogy data for production on CD-ROM and for the Internet. Prior to this, Paul was President of Automated Archives, Inc. which was the industry leader in providing genealogical data to the public on CD-ROM. Automated Archives, Inc. was sold to Banner Blue Software, Inc. in 1994, thus creating the world's largest commercial genealogical organization. Paul is a Certified Public Accountant, having worked for the accounting firm or Deloitte & Touche in their Los Angeles office. He later became a partner in the tax department of the accounting firm of Squire & Co. Paul is a graduate in accounting from the University of Utah. Paul also served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.
JAN AHRENS, Vice President and Business Unit Manager of Content - Jan joined the company in June of 1998 and now oversees acquisition and production of genealogy data for publication on CD-ROM and the Internet. Additionally, she manages the direct-to-consumer channel which delivers genealogy data and other genealogy products. Before joining Genealogy.com, Jan had eleven years of experience in her field. Most recently, she was Director of Marketing at Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing. In her five years at Harte-Hanks, she created strategic direct marketing solutions for leading retailers and financial institutions. Previous to that, she managed the direct marketing department at the FACS group, the financial and credit services division for Federated Department Stores, Inc. Jan earned her B.S. In Business, Marketing, from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and her MBA from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
MIKE BILBY, Controller - Mike has twelve years of experience in his field. He began his career with Unisys Corporation in San Jose, California, where he worked with both tax and financial analysis issues. He has ten years of professional experience in Human Resources, recruiting, and organizational development. Before joining Genealogy.com, Kevin was the Director of Human Resources with GolfPro International, Inc., a start-up technology company, and the Area Director with an international, non-profit organization.
