Background: I am the author of a free utility program for TMG databases. I initially wrote the program to help me cleanup my data after switching from Brother's Keeper to TMG. Since then I have continued to add features to the program.
TMG includes specific support for importing UFT data through its "GenBridge(TM)" feature. I suspect (based solely on my experiences importing BK data) that TMG will do a *great* job of importing the data--far better than any other program. But... there may still be difficulties. It seems to me that when users of other programs have described difficulties importing to TMG, the issues arose because:
1) The source program had some limitation that led to bad data recording practices.
2) Users of the source program deliberately misused some aspect of the program in order to perform a function for which it was not designed.
... and other similar reasons.
I do not know UFT so I have no idea if these problems will arise. If they do, however, PLEASE SEND ME A NOTE DESCRIBING THE SITUATION. If the problem can be solved by programmatically changing the data after it has been imported into TMG, I will consider adding new functionality to my program.
Important: This is a hobby for me, so I will have to consider how long it will take to design and program a solution and how many users will benefit before I will commit to anything.
-------------- IMPORTANT NOTE -------------- John Cardinal's TMG Utility program was not written by Wholly Genes, Inc., the authors and publishers of TMG. The author of this program is not affiliated with Wholly Genes in any way.
Wholly Genes publishes the TMG database format on their web site, and this program would not have been possible without it. Thank you Bob Velke.
