I don't understand how you came to the conclusion that lead to this sentence:

A single company that owns and sells different brands in the same category is not unusual. Consider soap companies and all of the brands that individual companies sell in the same market. If they have multiple brands that are successful (however they choose to define success), than I am sure they are happy. If one product is doing better in the market than another, they would then need to decide what do to and what makes best sense for their company.
