TMG can create indexes by first name, last name, place, husband and wife. You can choose to include one or all in the same report - but it supports indexing features by inserting the codes that are honored by your word processor. That is, it does not support indexes when creating reports for screen/printer.
By my recollection (?) the problem with UFT's index was limited to those that were created to screen/printer?We encountered a similar problem and decided that it made no sense to create an index that was often wrong. So we don't (yet) support indexes to screen/printer.
Of course, those who are publishing typically output in the native form of their word processor anyway for final preparation.
I don't know if you mean that UFT has accummulating errors when outputting an index to file ... but, in any case, TMG does not.
