I was at the Arlington RUG meeting in Providence, too, and the thing I found the most frustrating was the fact that UFT had been working for months on a 32-bit version and eventually gave up because they just couldn't get it to work soon enough. They were supposedly pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into it and just couldn't take it any more. Wouldn't you just love to see what they had when they gave up? Oh yes, and Rob Armstrong didn't rule out selling the code for the right price. Any billionaires out there who love UFT?
I'm very impressed by TMG and by Bob Velke, who was available at any time to answer questions on the floor of the convention. I'm not sure I'm ready to do a full transition to TMG yet, although I think the program could do a good job of it. UFT works well for me right now and does what I need for the most part. In time that will change and then I'll re-evaluate. By then there may be other options to consider.
One last thing to worry about -- what if TMG gets gobbled up by a big company and goes the way of UFT?
