>>Hello John >>Just a few more questions if thats OK.
>>Question. When I get to path to Editor, what do I put in?
Answer: That depends! It really isn't simple, and it really isn't intuitive. Furthermore if you do not have a copy of MS Word or WordPerfect version 6 or 7, it is my humble opinion that you are NOT going to get a very pretty report for e-mail!
Apparently you do not have any version of MSWord or WordPerfect . So let's try this method of getting an Indented Descendant Report exported to Windows WordPadto "Other".
Select "Automatically Launch Editor" Select "Other" While "Other is still highlighted "blue", hit "Tab" once. You should be in the "Path to Editor" window.
Hit the "Delete" key. This should clear the "Path to Editor" window. If it does not, use the backspace and delete keys repeatedly to clear all characters out.
Type in the following in the "Path to Editor" window: (no spaces)
Ignore "Path to application" on right side of page. It is for a different purpose. Click "OK" on the "External Support" page.
Go to the Individual Record and select Reports-Indented Descendant-Print.
This should automatically launch a report to WordPad. It will not be pretty. :(
In WordPad do a File-Save As. Name it Testfile.rtf, or whatever you want to call it. Notice the path to the folder you save it in. While still in WordPad, do a File-Send. This should automatically attach your file to an e-mail for you.
(Good luck on that part.)
>>Q. The indented report I want to email or just put in my documents is called muir.pro
A. No that is the name of your "project". It is likely that your project is not backed up to a "sqz" file. Read the book on backups and save everyuthing as soon as possible.
>>Q.Do I actually open the programme first and then do the print setup and external setup thing. A. Yes.
>>Q.Also what do I put in the path to Application? A. Ignore it (leave it empty). that is for exporting data fields to a spreadsheet.
>>Q. I reckon this is really hard. But I have loads of people that want the indented report - it looks so nice. A. Sorry, but you are not going to get the prettiest Indented Descendant Report unless you have MSWord or WordPerfect.
>>Q.But maybe I should send some other report instead. Are they easier to send or paste and copy to MY Documents somehow. A. They aren't any easier if you only have Wordpad. Let us know what software you have and whether this worked for you.
