Sara, I had to pull out the old RootsIV box to check about GEDCOM. Wow my manual is marked 1993, so doesn't seem that long ago. After RootsIII and having to buy GEDCOM as a extra I think Commsoft learned to make it part of the package.
Exporting to GEDCOM is on page 342.
To export a Roots IV project to a GEDCOM file, choose Save As from the File menu. Enter the file name, without the extension, for the GEDCOM file to be created. Roots IV adds the extension .GED. Next select the GEDCOM radio button, then select the path in which you want to save the file. ....
I would use the Basic selection as I think Extended was a specal GEDCOM for Commsoft users to transfer to another Roots IV user.
I would think you could click on File and Save As then F1 for help to get more details if you no longer have the book.
