There were some problems with people trying to get online in Ultimate Family Tree using AOL, but that was back with AOL3.0, as far as I know. I am going to paste in some knowledge base stuff, following this note; but if you have not already done so, exit the UFTree program. Then do the Browser stup up in Windows (Windows.../Start/Programs/Genealogy/ and "Browser setup". If you have problems, let me know and I"ll try to help further. Ruthie
Question: Why doesn't the Browser setup find my browser?.
Answer: The Browser Setup searches for Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer (prior to version 5). It will find these only if there is a Plugins directory in the same directory in which the .EXE file for the browser is located. Use the Windows File search to find either NETSCAPE.EXE or IEXPLORE.EXE and if there is no Plugins directory, create one and run the browser setup again. Consult the Windows manual or online help for information on creating directories. --- Note that there is no longer a browser setup in version 3.0 as the program will automatically use the default browser for your system.
Question: I ran the Browser setup, but I still can't go online. Why?
Answer: Find the exact location of the browser you normally use to access the Internet and rerun the Ultimate Family Tree Browser setup to make sure that you have the correct browser selected. This will not be a problem in Version 3.0 because the default browser is used to go online.
